Plot
[edit | edit source]Twenty-two years after the original film, Anna Coleman has established herself as a music producer and manager, with her mother Tess assisting her in raising her teenage daughter, Harper. Harper is at odds with her new classmate, British immigrant Lily Davies. When the two girls cause a disruption in chemistry class, Anna is summoned to the principal's office, where she meets Lily's father, Eric, and they quickly fall in love. Six months later, they are engaged, but the tension between the soon-to-be stepsisters intensifies. Harper worries that her mother may move to London and leave her behind with Tess, while Lily is eager to return to London instead of staying in Los Angeles permanently. The friction between them escalates when they instigate a food fight at a bake sale, resulting in their entire class getting detention.
