Plot
[edit | edit source]Taylor Wyatt is a widowed father who aspires to sell his home with the assistance of his sister Liz, who works as a real estate agent. His son Jack is an adventurous gamer, while his daughter Amber is an aspiring artist who often sketches in her notebook. Amber's violent and monstrous drawings create issues at school; however, the school therapist advises her to keep drawing as a way to express her anger. One day, while exploring the woods near their home, Jack trips, injuring his hand and breaking his phone. He inadvertently drops his phone into a nearby pond, but upon retrieving it, he discovers that the phone has been magically restored and the injuries on his hand have disappeared. Jack secretly continues to experiment with the pond's abilities using various items, which piques his sister's interest. She follows Jack into the woods, where her sketchbook — filled with depictions of various genocidal monsters — accidentally falls into the pond.
