Last Breath is a survival thriller film directed by Alex Parkinson and written by Mitchell LaFortune, Parkinson, and David Brooks. It is a feature film remake of the 2019 documentary of the same name that Parkinson co-directed with Richard da Costa. The film was released in the United States and United Kingdom on February 28, 2025.
Premise
[edit | edit source]A true story that follows seasoned deep-sea divers as they battle the raging elements to rescue their crew mate who is trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean's surface.

Production
[edit | edit source]It was announced in May 2022 that Alex Parkinson was directing a narrative film remake of his 2019 documentary, with Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu and Djimon Hounsou cast to star.
Principal photography began in Malta in May 2023 with plans to run through July with Finn Cole joining the cast.
In May 2024, Focus Features acquired the distribution rights to the film.
