A Christmas Story is a Christmas comedy film released in 1983, directed by Bob Clark. It is adapted from the 1966 book In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd, incorporating elements from his 1971 work Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories and Other Disasters. Plot

During the 1940s, a young boy named Ralphie Parker endeavors to persuade his parents, teacher, and Santa Claus that a Red Ryder Range 200 Shot BB gun is indeed the ideal Christmas present.
