			''Babylon 5: The Gathering'' is a 1993 American produced made-for-television sci-fi/action film starring Michael O'Hare, Jerry Doyle, and Mira Furlan. It was directed by Richard Compton.

			''The Gathering'' was the first pilot episode of the future [[Babylon 5 (1994)\|''Babylon 5'']] TV series and is technically, the first movie as well due to its extra-long run time. It established several main characters and their backstories although a number of lesser characters would have several casting changes following the wrapping of filming. It was set chronologicallly one year before the actual beginning of the first Babylon 5 TV episode, ''"Midnight on the Firing Line". '' It would be re-edited in 1998 and re-released accompanying ''[[Babylon 5: In the Beginning (1998)\|Babylon 5: In the Beginning]] ''feature film.

			It was the Dawn of the Third Age of Mankind and Commander Jeffrey Sinclair is about to commence the official opening ceremonies of Babylon 5; a central diplomatic space station open to Humans, Mimbari, Narn, Centauri, and the Vorlons in neutral space.

			However it seems as though the station's mission may be derailed even before it opens when Sinclair is accused of poisoning the newly arrived Vorlon Ambassador! And if the station doesn't give up Sinclair, then the Vorlons will declare war!
