Guy and Prisca Cappa are in the process of separating. They decide to take their young children, Maddox and Trent, to a tropical resort for one last family vacation. Upon arrival at their hotel, Guy and Prisca receive complimentary drinks, while the children form a friendship with Idlib, the nephew of the resort manager. Later that night, Maddox and Trent overhear their parents having an argument and engage in a message decoding game with Idlib. During this dispute, it comes to light that Prisca has a benign, slow-growing ovarian tumor.
